Like any animal, the dog must have a balanced diet. Carnivorous, it must also have an additional intake of cereals (carbohydrates) and vegetables (fibers).
Take into account your dog’s activity
During the hunting season, if you go out a lot, give your dog a high value energy supply. Increase the ration (10 to 20%) or choose a more suitable food.
If you hunt one day a week, increase the ration the day before.
Do not feed your dog for two hours before the outing.
Generally speaking, you should not allow your dog to feed ‘ad-lib’. Give him food at a fixed time, preferably in the evening around 5 p.m. so that he can do his business between two and four hours later.
Provide unlimited access to fresh water.
